Abstract

What has reading and writing poetry to offer groupwork? Groups are set up for many different purposes, yet there are, perhaps, some commonalities, the aims to develop communication skills and confidence; to encourage empathy; and to promote self-awareness and a degree of mental well-being. What role could poetry play in any of this?
