Author Biographies

Siao-Ee Lim, Yishun Community Hospital

Lim Siaoee is a Principal Medical Social Worker at the Yishun Community Hospital. She has been practising social work since 2002. Siaoee obtained a Master of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Work) degree with First Class Honours from the National University of Singapore. Her passion and interest in helping vulnerable adults and people who experience grief and health crises stemmed from her earlier days as a social worker at Ang Mo Kio Famiy Service Centre, as well as her stint at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She enjoys developing medical social workers as a clinical supervisor and is inspired by teaching in the area of social work practice in healthcare. Siaoee is also a recipient of several professional awards, some of which include the Individual Silver Award at the AlC Community Care Excellence Awards in 2020 and 2022 and the National Healthcare Group Teaching Award for Allied Health Senior Educators in 2021. She has also been a speaker at national healthcare conferences such as the 8th Singapore Palliative Care Conference in 2023. 

Yogeswari Munisamy, National University of Singapore

Yogeswari Munisamy is a PhD Research Scholar and a part-time lecturer on the NUS Masters module SWM5216 Family and Interpersonal Violence. She also has experience as a Senior Principal Social Worker in Child Protective Services in Singapore.
